About Me

Welcome to Carly Pickering Counselling, a fully online counselling service for individuals and couples. I offer a non-judgmental, supportive, and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and relationships. Whether navigating challenges, feeling stuck, or simply needing someone to talk to, I'm here to walk alongside you with care and compassion.

I'm a Master’s qualified counsellor with a specialisation in couple counselling. I am Level 2 registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and fully insured. I also have a Diploma of Youth Work and a Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs. I have completed a supervision course with the Bouverie Centre and offer supervision to those working in youth and AOD services.

With over 13 years of experience working in community services, I bring warmth, practical insight, and deep understanding to my work. I have extensive experience supporting individuals with alcohol and other drug concerns and have worked closely with young people and their families in both clinical and outreach settings.

As an integrative and trauma-informed therapist, I tailor my approach to suit your unique needs and circumstances. I draw from a wide range of evidence-based modalities, including attachment theory, emotionally focused therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, interpersonal therapy, and family systems approaches. I have a particular interest in attachment and adult attachment and how early experiences shape the way we connect and relate in our adult lives.

I also support clients navigating the grief and loss of relationships, including separation, emotional disconnection, or other major transitions. My approach is relational, compassionate, and grounded in creating a safe, respectful space for healing and growth.

All sessions are held via Halaxy’s secure video platform, offering flexibility and comfort while ensuring your privacy and confidentiality.

Outside of counselling, I enjoy spending time in nature, reading, and being with family. I value authenticity, kindness, and the power of human connection—principles that guide both my life and my work.
